Would LOVE to see a Kwik Trip in Hutchinson! We stop by one every time we are in the Twin Cities or Mankato, for milk, bread, bananas and other items. They have the best tasting milk and their cinnamon rolls are to die for! Having one in Hutch would really liven up the competition amongst the other gas/convenience stores :-) Bring it on!!

Applebees has done great in Hutchinson. Hope the rumors about BWW are true. If they have a good location, I bet they will do as well, if not better than Applebees!

So why is the new County

So why is the new County Road 115 bridge 2-3 feet lower than the old bridge it replaced? Anyone who has snowmobiled or ridden 4 wheeler under the bridge will notice that its quite a bit lower than the old bridge. If I remember correctly the final nail in the coffin of the old bridge was flooding that washed away the base. Wouldnt it have made sense to raise the new bridge and the road or at least keep the height the same? I'm sure that would have cost more but probably would extend the life and usefullness of the new bridge considerably.

That will be nice to have a gas station on that side of the Highway and at the end of the strip like that. Will be a great addition to that end of town. How about this Buffalo Wild Wings talk around town. Is this true that they are coming? I've been hearing it a lot in the last few weeks and heard they are coming and will be putting up a new building in front of JcPenny's in the parking lot and also heard out by the American Inn. It would be nice for another place to eat, but don't see it as nothing but a rumor, as this town and the economy are very weak for a business like this to be supported with what is already here. Look at Castaways, it lasted 5 weeks, then again that was never meant to be. I think Buffalo Wild Wings would be great and it would be another place to go on the weekend when Lamplighter and Applebee's are on a wait.

We just received an e-mail from one of our readers (and a pretty reliable source) with the following update:

The highway engineer has closed South Grade Road (actually 180th Street) west of Hutch and the new Bypass (115) has water on the bridge over the Crow, but is still open as of earlier this morning.

If any of you flood spotters out there have news to report, please let us know or feel free to comment here to get the word out.

Glen that is really funny..Maybe after the "cook" out they can walk down the unpaved portion of the trail and that is the most it would be used in years. Please everyone call the governor and express how worthless this trail being paved would be with tax payers money.
